High blood pressure is one of the most common causes of heart diseases. A stressful lifestyle results in getting high blood pressure which gradually leads to conditions such as heart attack and stroke. The saddest part is high blood pressure does not have any symptom and is known as a silent killer. Some of the general symptoms which could be an indicator of high BP are severe headache, dizziness, chest pain, etc. There are various ways to lower blood pressure. Making changes in lifestyle is the easiest way to prevent high BP. Adopt healthy diet as prescribed in the Dietary Advice to Stop Hypertension. Try exercises to keep yourself stress-free. High BP can result in heart attack or strokes. So it is better to be aware of the symptoms and diagnosis of heart attack in order to prevent this life threatening condition. Heart attack generally occurs when the arteries supplying blood to the heart muscles becomes narrow and restricts the blood flow. This is due to the plaque deposits which is hard on the outside and soft on the inside. When the plaque deposits becomes hard and ruptures, platelets come to the affected area to form a clot around the plaque. If this clot blocks the artery completely, the heart muscle does not receive oxygen causing death of heart muscle.

Few common symptoms of heart attack are

  • heaviness, discomfort, pressure or pain the arm or chest. The pain can radiate to the jaw, back or throat.
  • Indigestion, fullness or heartburn
  • Nausea, sweating, vomiting and dizziness
  • Fast or irregular heartbeats

If you notice any of these symptoms immediately see your doctor. They will conduct few tests and physical examination to diagnose heart attack. If the symptoms and diagnosis of heart attack is known beforehand then proper heart treatment can prevent it.
